CalTrace has much of the functionality of CalWorks but was designed for the customer of a lab that is using CalWorks. That could be a commercial lab that wants to provide a program to their clients or a large corporation that has a primary lab but also has satellite labs that want to maintain their own databases.

How does it work?

All of the data that was accumulated in the lab can be transferred electronically to the CalTrace program so nothing needs to be re-keyed into the software. Additional items that are calibrated at the client's lab can be traced in the system. This program is designed to run on a single computer or Local Area Network. It contains much of the same functionality of the CalWorks program.

Licensing

The licensing for CalSync is based on the number of concurrent users. This is the number of users that are logged in to the server at one time. Like CalWorks everything is stored on the server so there is nothing to install on the workstation. Any computer that has access to the server can run the program.
